Boudiar {portraits – FACE}

A few months back I was visiting The Wedding Cafe to meet one of my wedding clients and ran into Christine Gardner who was doing a great hair and makeup style on a bride.  We started talking and thought it would be fun to do a collaboration for some fun photos.   The vintage style pin up girl photos have always inspired me, fun, sexy and in today’s terms classy.  Great hair and makeup artist, Christine Gardner + great friend and rocking bod Kat + some costume tweaking + a few hours of shooting fun and voila we have our own Vintage Style Pin Up Girl photos!  We had so much fun, by the time we looked at the clock it was midnight!

After doing this shoot I said to myself, man I wish I would have done this or something similar (sexy, fun)before kids, and with the magic of make up and cameras, I think Im going to do it anyways. Every girl should do this, really!

Little Ones {portraits – BABY}

 Celebrating Fathers Day, Grace and her friends and their daddy’s were all lined up for their close up. I had approximately 1 minute to get the shot (for fear of tee tee and tears, and the dads!), but I am happy with the shot!

Kylie {Portraits – KIDS}

How cute is she?

Hailee and Dan {Destination – Honeymoon – LOVE}

Hailee and Daniel looked into hiring us a few years back for their destination wedding in Hawaii.  Unfortunately they ended up doing a home town wedding and thus we never got to meet them face to face.  Luckily though they didn’t forget us and on their vacation to Hawaii they looked us up to do some engagement/honeymoon style photos on the beach in the North Shore.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.

I love this shot under the sea grape tree.

sandy feet

Just relaxing and enjoying the Hawaiian Waters.

Brynn and Nick {Engagement – LOVE}

Just a few shots from Brynn and Nick’s get to know you session.  These two are my favorites!  I just love it when a couple isn’t afraid to get wet, why go to the ocean if you don’t get in?  Wedding photos soon to follow!

Getting in to Trouble!

So lately little Gracie has been a little naughty, but all in fun and learning.  This is her playing in “her” cabinet which is full of things that are unopened or things that can’t hurt her, however climbing in as you will see could very well put her in the danger zone and she knows she’s not supposed to do it.  This time I caught her in action.

This is the look, that you know she is going to do something she’s not supposed to!

She got it!

Bridal Blog Awards

Bridal Blogs are the eye candy of the wedding world right now, especially for brides who are searching for tips, color and design inspiration  and of course photos to get their juices flowing for their wedding design.  There are some really great blogs out there right now, too many to mention all of them, but some of my favorites are: Style Me Pretty (full of beautiful and classy photos and design ideas and real wedding inspiration), Wedding Bee (a mix of pro and brides to bee advice, inspirations, and comments), The Broke Ass Bride (comical, the name really says it all) . Currently until mid July Wedding Channel is having a contest for the best Bridal blogs so I thought I would share so you can nominate, select and share your favorite bridal blogs.

Getting to know Temiya and Johnny

Temiya and Johnny get the prize for my most fashionable couple!  They looked so good, even his sunglasses matched, Dave and I were very impressed.  And I loved the color they chose too- Yellow, it’s fun and energetic, what an inspiration. I’ve always loved the color yellow, it reminds me of one of my best highschool friends (Marissa, she always loved yellow). There were so many fun photos so I narrowed it down to my top 4 here they are…Thanks for a fun day you two!

Getting to know Kevin and Darla

Other people call it Engagement Photos, I call it “Get to know you” what ever it may be these sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot and Kevin and Darla are a perfect example of why.  Every couple has something unique to them, something that they enjoy as a couple, a funny story of how they met, something they collect (we collect sand!), a hobby, or favorite activity.  Kevin’s first words to Darla was asking her if she was into Martial Arts (maybe not in those exact words but close)…I know pretty funny, especially being that they were at a wedding and complete strangers and there were no visual cues to make him think she would be, but none the less that is what he said.  So anyway, she was not then but apparently Kevin just has that effect on her, as you can see from the photos, she digs it now (and of course she digs Kevin too).  My first thought when they showed me the samurai sword and what appeard to be a stick (escrima stick, bo staff, somthing along those lines) was “how am I going to shoot this so that they look like they love each other, not want to kill each other…” but I think you will agree they did great and I love it because it’s something both different from other engagement photos and special to them!

Bernice and Davison

Just a few of our favorites from Bernice and Davison’s wedding day.  We actually were coordinating this event, but their photographer and close friend allowed us to snap a few shots for our portfolio!  As you can see they were an awesome couple!  So happy and I LOVE the colors!
