I can’t believe I am writing this, but today Gracie is one! It has been a wonderful year welcoming her into our lives. She is spunky, silly, determined, and is very agile and quick to catch on for her age. She loves the water, dancing, music, outdoors, the beach, exploring, baby dolls, the kitchen (she has a special cabinet) and anything her sister is doing she wants to be a part of. I have several friends who are on the fence about having a second child, and to be honest we were too for a while, but we are so glad that we chose to have two! Watching the girls together, Brooklyn and Gracie chasing each other around, their laughter and giggles, Gracie’s excitement when she hears Brooke come home from school and Brooklyn’s excitement to see her baby sister- it’s just something you can’t explain, but have to experience yourself as a parent!
For her party we are doing a LOST theme. Not that she knows it, but we are all excited about it! So of course we had to do some photos for the party of Gracie dressed up as baby Aaron (with a blanket ).
Finally we are happy to announce that we have launched our gallery print site!!!! As many of you know we got our start doing landscapes, that led to commercial work, then that brought models (portfolios), and then models got married and that is what stuck. But we still have that passion for capturing things of our past (landscapes, commercial work and models!) So we have been working on putting together a few of our favorite images to sell as gallery prints. Some of the images were shot on our stock trips, some were photographed just because, some are recent some are old, but all are images we love and wanted to share! Here is a sneak peak at what you will see on the site. We will be adding new images and removing old ones every few months so please continue to check back. If you are looking for a particular print for your walls please inquire we may have the perfect shot you are looking for!
Laurie and Stacy are to be married this July on Oahu. We just got their save the dates in the mail and they are so cute, but you will have to wait until we post the wedding photos to see them They are navy with coral color coral branches and white text. Laurie and Stacy came out to do their get to know you session with us and we had a wonderful time getting to know each other. Ironically we ran into each other the following day at her hair and make up trail at the wedding cafe too, such a small world.
This past week during the photography showcase at The Wedding Cafe, part of their Wednesday night workshopseries, we were asked “What is trash the dress” by one of the brides. Trash the dress sessions are typically (but not always as shown below) done after the wedding day and are intentional (that means you know you are most likely going to ruin the dress!) This session is for the bride who has no intention of saving the dress, think about it, are you really going to wear it again? Or save it, did you wear your moms dress? These sessions are so much fun and some great photos come out of them! So to all of you who aren’t familiar with trash the dress I have attached a photo for a sample, this particular trash the dress photograph was not planned and was totally unexpected! I was actually coordinatingthe event when I saw my beautiful bride and groom running towards the pool! Knowing the photographer had left for the night I grabbed my camera and snapped away! I always bring my camera to get a few general set up shots for our coordination portfolio and it just so happened that in this case that I was able to catch a great “moment” for the books too!! Thanks Thu and Arek for “breaking loose” you to ROCK!!! Dave and I had so much fun working with you on your event and will never forget your fun and outgoing spirit!
Below is another Trash the dress session, done with client Maya. For this session we took the day and toured around the island taking shots of Maya in different settings ruining her dress! We went to the beach, a waterfall and then finally back to the beach!

Everyone always says Friday the 13th is bad luck, but why? My family would beg to differ! You see a long long time ago my grandparents were married on a Friday the 13th! Just the two of them drove to a family members home got married, had tuna fish sandwiches and a little cake and they have lived happily ever after since, 5 kids, 7 grand kids and 5 great grand children later they are still living happily ever after! In our dating years they inspired us so much that when David and I got engaged and were choosing a date for our wedding we initially decided to also share the Friday the 13th tradition! So now like grandma and grandpa we find cause to celebrate each and every Friday 13th regardless of if it’s the exactdate we got married on or not! So who knows maybe there are other things that one associates as bad luck that really are good- like cute little black cats! 
This shot was taken WAAAAAYYY back when we were in college with a little point a shoot camera, believe it or not we ended up selling a print of the kitty for more than what we paid for the camera, talk about good luck kitties! On the back roads of Maui this little black cat sat in a pile of bananas with it’s golden eyes gleaming at us!
The Season 5 of Lost is well on it’s way to revealing secrets, so we thought we would let you all in on one of our little secrets… Baby Grace is playing the part of baby Aaron this season, like all seasons she is only one of the babies to play the part of the “little king” but for us it’s been exciting to be a part of it all!
They don’t allow shots on the set but here is one of her and I in front of her trailer.
