Welcome

Hi and welcome to INSPIRE, the photo blog of Cassandra Dieterle Photography, a husband and wife photography team.  We currently hold offices in Atlanta, Georgia and in Honolulu, Hawaii, but LOVE to travel worldwide for both business and pleasure.  We have shot just about anything you could think of at some point in our photography career but most frequently we can be found snapping away for: weddings, families, kids and babies, and of course our stock photo trips. INSPIRE-photo blog- came about after a Tuesday afternoon conversation between David and I.  In turn we came to the conclusion that...life IS short, how short we don't know so figure out what inspires you to grow and live each moment to the fullest! For us being inspired is what keeps us going in our photographic career, it's what encourages us to be a family, friend, find new angles, go new places, meet new people, and at the same time appreciate our past!  This blog serves as our own personal journal to all that inspires us, for us to share our thoughts through our images both professional and personal in  hopes that it will encourage you to find what inspires you.  So please enjoy, don’t rush through, explore the site and let us know what you think!  We love to get feedback and who knows your feedback may inspire someone else! Kat and Josh – {LOVE- Panama City, FL}

Kat and Josh meet through cheerleading at Hawaii Pacific University, however I knew both of them independently BEFORE they knew each other!  I met Josh at UK back in 1999 and Kat through a friend in 2006.  To my surprise I saw Josh in Hawaii at a cheerleading event we brought our daughter to watch, the next thing I knew Kat and Josh were “Kat and Josh.”  So when Kat broke the news Dave and I were thrilled and so excited for them.  Then they said they were getting married in FL, and moving too! (bummers I thought)  But she followed up with “will you be our photographers, and can Brooke and Grace be our flower girls?”  I thought the girls were going to bounce through the roof when they found out! 
Fast forward a year – Destination Panama City Florida!  We had a blast with Kat and Josh for their wedding.  Besides being open to pretty much anything we requested for photos :) and dodging rain all day, Kat and Josh put so much detail into the event that no matter where we looked there was always something to photograph, not to mention the 8 little princesses floating around all day and a great family and wedding party!

Jessica and Jason – {LOVE – Princeville, Kauai}

Jessica and Jason were married at one of my all time favorite spots.  Ahhh, the Saint Regis, what a beautiful location.  Can it get any better than Princeville Kauai for an intimate wedding location?    The two trees where the ceremony was held seem to unite to create one giant canopy that blocks the sun enough for guests comfort and allows a sparkling reflection from the ocean to illuminate the bride and groom!  I just love it.

Among other things like the flowers by Martin Roberts and her gorgeous dress accented by a cluster of grey and charcoal flowers, I loved the reception decor of orchids and the vibrant color selection and the lounge areas made it feel so cozy and chic.

Nolan – {KIDS – East Cobb}

Nolan was ALL boy, I think most of our session was spent running, that means me and mom too!  It’s amazing how fast he was, definitely a future baseball star like daddy!  When we did get him to slow down it wasn’t for long-

Sonya and Shinya -{LOVE, Honolulu, Hawaii}

Sonya and Shinya came from Japan to have a private wedding (just the two of them) in Hawaii.  They stood beach side reciting their vows and we followed their private ceremony with a fun beach side photo session.  The beautiful bouquet was done by SU-V Expressions.

Alyssa Jo – {BABY- Cartersville, GA}

Sweet baby Alyssa Jo, she was so tiny and such a good baby, I could have photographed her sweet sleep all day.   I love the little smiles she gave and her dream expressions- I’m convinced we dream at this age…just not sure of what!  The purple  baby cocoon, was one that I made (a little side project I’ve been working on, as well as hand made hair flowers), I hope to offer these to clients soon, SO if you are interested in them please let me know.  I was surprised at how well she liked the cocoon!  I almost felt bad taking her out of it because she was sleeping so well and seemed so cuddled in it. 
Congratulations to mom and dad, she is a beauty!

Tyler and Landin – {KIDS- Atlanta, Georgia}

Tyler and Landin (I love those names), were the sweetest brothers.  We met near Lewis Park in Marietta, Georgia- the park has a great playground which for photos was good and bad.  Tyler was a pro at taking photos, if ever I need a model I will be calling his mommy!  He was ready and willing to take photos and he even had this cute little pose thing he did (kind of like the GQ models).  Landin however could not take his eyes off of the playground.  Mom had told him we will take photos first and then we will go play.  Great idea in theory only to a 3 year old take photos first meant “I take A photo then I go play” so as soon as he heard the camera shutter close he said “all done” and ran straight towards the playground to go play!  Once we convinced him to come back, Tyler did everything he could to get Landin to participate in taking photos :)  and not run off to the playground until we were all done.  Since Tyler was obviously willing and ready to do this and Landin wanted to play Tyler tickled, hugged, bribed and at one point just grabbed him in a bear hug to get him to stick around for a few shots.  The interaction and way their personality came out couldn’t be more real.  And at the end of the shoot, both boys were SO happy to finally get their prize and play on the playground.

Ashley- {BUMP – Maternity Photos Marietta, Georgia}

June 21, 2010 – 10:20 am

It seems like everyone I meet as of late is pregnant, or has just had a little on. I’m assuming there must be something in the water and therefore it’s soda (Coke or Pepsi -yes a southern girl that drinks Pepsi!), sweet tea, coffee or juice  for me only :) until someone figures out whats going on!  But the good part of that is there has been lots of beautiful belly shots and new babies to photograph and that part I love! 
This session in particular was a great one I wanted to feature on the blog.  It was a new location for us, which is always great for us creativly but it was also symbolic to our client Ashley because it was shot in the creek in her back yard and the home where she grew up.  She recalled countless memories of the creek when her and her brothers used to play.  Not only that but the attire she wore was also special.  The red dress was her aunties from the 70’s, and the green army color shirt was her dad’s favorite shirt.  SO it was a great trip down memory lane for her and I absoulty love the shots we got from the session too!

Georgia AllStars- {PERSONAL – My Girls, Woodstock GA}

Brooklyn and Gracelyn have both been enjoying gymnastics classes over the past few months and finally had a chance to show off their new skills.  Here are a few snapshots we took amidst the rush of proud parents.

Angela & Cuong- {LOVE – Loulu Palms, Oahu}

Anglea and Cuong’s wedding day was SOOOO windy, I think the windiest day I had experienced as a wedding photographer. Loulu Palms  is always susceptible to windy conditions, however on this particular day the whole island had high wind advisory.

Cami Maternity {BUMP – Honolulu, Hawaii}

The world seems to get smaller and smaller the older I get, and even more so with social networking sites like facebook and twitter around.  David and I were checking our facebook accounts one afternoon when he says “No way, one of my friends I went to school with at Walton with and cheered at Pro Cheer is here in Hawaii, and pregnant.”  “visiting or living?” I said.  “She and her husband are stationed here.” he said… and of course you know where the conversation led.  6,000 miles away from what we all call home we met up in the jungle to take photos of her BUMP, and play catch up on old times.  No matter how many times I shoot maternity photos or what location I’m in doing it, I’m always so inspired and swarmed with wonderful memories of, my own pregnancies.   The happiness, excitement, anxiousness, and amazing feeling knowing that there is a little life growing within my bump.  I hope that one day when her and her husband look back at the photos they too will share the fond memories I have of pregnancy.  We did this shoot in Honolulu Hawaii on Old Pali Road, the vegetation there is very jungle like and has some amazing spots for creative photos.  It also happens to be a great spot for hiking for those of you explorers out there.
